Job Location: 2850 Willow Pass Rd, Bay Point, CA 94565 Position Type: contract( 9 months) with possible extension Pay rate $25/hr on w2 with Benefits Education * High school diploma/GED and experience working in a chemical laboratory preferred. * Ability to work on requested shift. Training rotations may occur on a different shift than the application states, and can take 1-3 months to complete. Shifts may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts as well as weekends. Qualifications: Reporting directly to Quality Control Supervisor, the QC Lab Specialist is responsible for testing chemical, physical, and mechanical properties of materials to determine conformance to standards and specifications. Requirements * Strong commitment to safety, with demonstrated investment in safety improvement activities * Solid interpersonal skills, must be able to work as a team member and independently on multi-task assignments * PC proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically excel tabling and charting, SAP, and other database experience preferred. * Familiar with analytical equipment, wet chemistry techniques, and/or mechanical testing apparatuses. * Strong work ethic, self-motivated and ability to drive projects to desired results. * Sound communication skills, focused on problem solving and interdepartmental teamwork. * Ability to balance changing priorities in a dynamic team environment. Responsibilities: * Complies with all Safety, Health, and Environmental rules, procedures and regulations. * Conducts all laboratory work in a safe manner including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to the site safety practices, use of lab equipment, 5S, etc
