This position is located at (VSFB) Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
This position is not eligible for telecommuting
Essential Functions:
- Provide operational, administrative, maintenance and provisioning support on IP network, ATM network, voice, multiplexing, messaging, data switching, display, recording, voice systems, etc.
- Provide system administrative function for various computer systems.
- Provide tier-two support to other maintainers in the communications department.
- Write procedures and/or reports, as applicable, to support existing or new processes, or as required to summarize data collected during engineering level testing.
- Participate in government or contractor chaired meetings.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Ability to exercise diplomacy within a team environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail.
- BS degree in an associated discipline. (Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering)
- Five (5) or more years' experience in the telecommunications or networking field.
- Experience with networking protocols, software emulation and scripting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of Western Range operations is preferred
- Experience with troubleshooting and isolating system failures.
- Experience with fiber optic, multiplexer, messaging, data switching, recording and voice systems, preferred.
- Experience with or knowledge of communications transport systems, preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Must currently possess or be able to obtain CompTIA's Security certification within six (6) months of hire date.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to support occasional travel.
- The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License

The salary range for this role is $76,970 - $98,727 however, RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
