What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Clerk position at RGW Parent Inc?
Role and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the main point of contact for medical records requests; addresses requests from clinical centers, or directly from athenaCollector (PMS)
- Fulfills patients’ medical records requests, legal medical records requests, etc.
- Manages faxing, emailing or scanning of medical records into appropriate folders; applies proper documentation regarding all requests received and completed
- Performs review of medical records according to Healthcare Effectiveness Data & Information Set (HEIDS) criteria
- Assists with other administrative, ad-hoc projects as needed
Essential Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: 1 years of experience in a professional setting; experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- Facility in supporting compliance with organizational policies, procedures and systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines, practices and procedures
- Proficiency in working with computers, facsimile, copy machine and email
- Solid computer skills – requirement of MS applications – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
