TITLE: Manager of Plant Operations
DEPARTMENT: Plant Operations
REPORTS TO: CEO
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Plant Operations is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and compliant physical plant. This includes overseeing strategic planning, daily management of staff, fiscal oversight, and ensuring compliance with state, federal, and DNV standards.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in engineering, construction management, building maintenance, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare facility maintenance, including hands-on tasks, regulatory compliance, and technical operations. Knowledge of life safety codes for healthcare facilities required.
- Licensure: No specific licensure required; Facilities Management Administrator (CHFM) certification or equivalent preferred. EPA CFC recovery certification is also preferred.
- Technical Skills:
· Experience with commercial building maintenance and commercial HVAC systems.
· Hands-on experience with boiler and pump maintenance.
· Knowledge of Tracer Summit Software for managing building systems is a plus.
· Familiarity with pneumatic tube systems and medical gas systems is a plus.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift to 100 pounds occasionally, and 50 pounds frequently. Requires physical tasks like climbing, stooping, and handling tools, as well as the ability to distinguish smells, sounds, and visual cues.
- Working Conditions: Primarily indoor and outdoor work in varying temperatures and weather. May be exposed to hazards like noise, electrical current, machinery, chemicals, and particulate matter.
- Travel: Must have a valid driver’s license, as travel to off-site meetings and for the delivery of supplies/equipment may be required.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Supervise daily operations of the Plant Operations team, providing leadership and direction to staff.

Work involves strategic planning and problem-solving based on broad instructions and policies. The ability to make judgment calls and adapt to changing conditions is crucial for success in this role.
