The Quality Technician - Failure Analysis provides input into Rheem’s continual improvement process via analysis of returned components and heaters. Responsibilities include material handling, inspection, and testing to determine the cause of failure, documentation of all findings, and disposition of returned components, as directed.
This position will serve our Enterprise Division, located in Montgomery, Alabama.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Receive returned components and heaters from customers and service contractors, complete records of items received as required.
- Inspect and test components and heaters generating reporting as required.
- Retain components and heaters for proper disposition, to include proper storage and identification.
- Package and arrange for shipment of components and heaters to their original supplier, customers, and distributors, as directed
Qualifications*WHAT YOU NEED*
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates Degree, Voc-tech degree, or equivalent experience or at least 2 years of experience inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards.
- Experience reading technical drawings and specifications to ensure that products meet design standards.
- Problem solving – identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, develops alternative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrates ability to work well with others is a matrix team environment.
- Conduct incoming inspection of components through various processes and practices.
HOW TO STAND OUT
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Ability to comprehend and comply with technical procedures and instructions
- Able to demonstrate effective and successful contributions to team and/or cross-functional team objectives
- Demonstrates ability to operate test equipment ranging from simple to complex
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
