Job Description

The Sr. Manager, Human Resources is responsible for supervising and administering all human resources functions of the division, including compliance, recruiting, training, safety and environment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, security, and the medical department.

This position will serve our Air Distribution Division, located in the Northeast. This position must be located in/work from one of the Rheem Northeast Distribution Branches - including North Plainfield, NJ, Clifton, NJ, Totowa, NJ, Norwood, NJ, or Montomgerville, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise all functions within the Human Resources Department.
  • Develop and manage new hire onboarding and employee development programs
  • Identify, communicate, and manage legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting follow city, state, and federal laws.
  • Oversee the recruiting and selection of candidates for division exempt and non-exempt salaried job openings.
  • Develop and administer company policies and procedures pertaining to employee life cycle management.
  • Act as an advisor to division supervisors and managers regarding the application/ interpretation of the Company’s Human Resources policies.
  • Manage cthe ompany’s constructive discipline policy, including participation in the disciplinary process up to and including termination cases.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee and labor relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations for resolution of employee issues.
  • Provide proactive management of employee and labor relations to minimize grievances and/or to settle at the earliest stage of grievance procedure.
  • Conduct employee counseling as required, including counseling on career development and education/training needed to meet their professional goals.
  • Keep records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Oversee the division’s Education & Tuition Reimbursement Program and incentive compensation programs (MIP, SIP, AIP) with Rheem Air and Enterprise HR Depts.
  • Oversee local Human Resource staff and related management activities.
  • Attend Rheem HR meetings and supports company-wide HR activities.
  • Focus on employee morale- constantly looking for ways to keep it positive.
  • Plan and execute employee events including but not limited to training, meetings, team building, and social engagements
  • Travel within the Northeast businesses approximately 25-30%
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration
  • 10 years’ experience in generalized Human Resources with supervisory experience
  • Experience in a distribution environment preferred
  • Experience with union/labor relations including contract negotiation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of the principles, laws, and regulations related to the management of human resources (city, state, & federal employment laws).
  • Experience in conflict management and conflict resolution for managers/leaders.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to develop, manage, and conduct training programs.
  • Experience in team management and coaching/developing employee performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to prioritize multiple projects and deal with numerous interruptions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees or regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and employees throughout the organization.
  • Ability to travel with no restrictions throughout the U.S.

How To Stand Out

  • Master’s degree in human resources management
  • Human Resources Certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP
