We are looking for an enthusiastic Christian kindergarten teacher to foster and facilitate the intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual development of children. Teaching in kindergarten includes planning, implementing and assessing lessons. The candidate will be responsible for teaching a biblical worldview. In addition, he or she will implement lessons and teach children with patience, creativity, and the love of Jesus. The candidate must have a personal relationship with Jesus and be dedicated to the philosophy of Christian education.
Essential Skills:
● Passion for Christian education and the ability to inspire young learners
● Love for school aged children and understanding of unique social, physiological, emotional, cognitive, psychological and spiritual needs
● Experience with and skill in learning and teaching modalities including various instructional technologies and strategies
● Desire to work in the context of a Christian professional learning community
Job Responsibilities:
● A mature relationship with Jesus Christ and evidence of a Biblical lifestyle.
● Design, prepare and present lessons that facilitate students’ cognitive, social and emotional development.
● Using games, music, artwork, films, books, computers and other tools to teach basic educational and social skills
● Ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment
● Using play-based learning and hands-on teaching methods
● Teaching letter recognition, phonics and numbers ● Designed and implemented integrated science/social studies lessons ● Prepared and planned literacy and math centers daily
● Maintaining grades for the students and discussing progress with parents
● Integrating competencies, goals and objectives into lesson plans
● Monitoring children’s interactions and nurturing cooperation and sharing
● Working closely with administration, staff and other teachers
● Encouraging creativity by organizing art and craft projects
● Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information
● Assess students performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on a regular basis
● Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety procedures
● Supervise students during lessons and on the playground for recess
● Assess each student’s progress and determine how best to help them
● Coordinate field trips and other activities
● Organizational skills and flexibility as well as the ability to handle change and multiple taskings
● Implement a classroom management system in their classroom
● Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Certification
