What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Math Teacher position at Rhema Christian School?
We are looking for an enthusiastic Christian middle school Math teacher to foster and facilitate the intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual development of middle school students. The teacher must be knowledgeable in Math 5, Math 6, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and Geometry. The candidate will be responsible for teaching a biblical worldview. In addition, he or she will implement lessons and teach students with patience, creativity, and the love of Jesus. The candidate must have a personal relationship with Jesus and be dedicated to the philosophy of Christian education.

● Passion for Christian education and the ability to inspire middle school aged learners
● Love for middle school aged children and understanding of unique social, physiological, emotional, cognitive, psychological and spiritual needs
● Experience with and skill in learning and teaching modalities including various instructional technologies and strategies
● Desire to work in the context of a Christian professional learning community
Job Responsibilities:
● A mature relationship with Jesus Christ and evidence of a Biblical lifestyle.
● Design, prepare and present lessons that facilitate students’ cognitive, social and emotional development.
● Create units and lesson plans that prioritize student engagement and individual needs using student-centered and inquiry-based approaches.
● Employ a variety of teaching methods and differentiated instruction to engage a range of learners.
● Maintain accurate records of student growth and communicate progress with families.
● Create a classroom culture that is engaging, student-centered, and effectively managed.
● Integrating competencies, goals and objectives into lesson plans
● Working closely with administration, staff and other teachers
● Collaborating with a school’s administration in enforcing rules of behavior, class participation and conduct for students
● Developing flexible, effective teaching tools and methods to help students learn mathematics
● Creating and assigning learning projects, essays, tests, quizzes and homework for students, then grading their performance accurately on these assignments
● Working with students individually if they need extra help and support in their math coursework
● Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information
● Assess students performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on a regular basis
● Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety procedures
● Organizational skills and flexibility as well as the ability to handle change and multiple taskings
● Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Level Mathematics, Secondary Mathematics or Elementary K-6 Certification
