Qualifications:
We are looking for an enthusiastic substitute teacher to foster and facilitate the intellectual, social and spiritual development of the children. You will implement lessons and you will teach children with patience, creativity and the love of God. This teacher will need to fulfill all the qualifications in the RCS faculty handbook including providing a minister’s recommendation from a church which is in agreement with the RCS Statement of Faith. The teacher will demonstrate a mature and vibrant relationship with God and be dedicated to the philosophy of Christian education.
Responsibilities:
SUMMARY: Instructs students and facilitates their learning in the absence of the regular teacher.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
Maintains a professional appearance as an example to students.
Remains at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by building principal.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintains rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
Communicates effectively with parents when needed.
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Proven working experience as an elementary teacher.
- Excellent knowledge of child development and latest education theories and practices.
- Creative teaching abilities.
- Teaching and organization skills.
- Patience and flexibility.
- Strong communication skills.
- Keeping current with the latest trends and best practices.
- BA or BS degree in education or relevant license/certificate.
- A mature relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced in character and fellowship in a local Bible believing church.
