We provide a variety of services, including food distribution to those facing food insecurities, hygiene products, counseling sessions, housing, and financial assistance referrals. Additionally, we offer financial literacy courses, after-school tutoring, and assistance with college and financial aid applications. Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Community Health Worker located in Lexington, KY and surrounding counties. The Community Health Worker will be responsible for supporting individuals and families by providing resources and referrals, conducting outreach, and educating the community about available services. Daily tasks include assisting with access to healthcare, providing support in food and hygiene product distribution, offering individual and group counseling, and organizing financial literacy courses. The role also involves developing strong relationships within the community to better understand and address its needs.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in community outreach and providing resources and referrals
- Knowledge in healthcare access and individual/group counseling
- Skills in organizing and conducting educational programs and workshops
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Experience in the non-profit sector or social services is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, or related field preferred
