Description: Job Summary:Rheumatology Associates is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Lab Technician (MLT) / Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, and immunology, analyzing specimens, and ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of results. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play an essential role in supporting the diagnosis and treatment of patients with rheumatic diseases.________________________________________Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications:Education: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
Certification: Certification from an accredited certifying agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT) as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician is preferred or required.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred but not required.
Systems Experience: Familiarity with the following systems is a plus:
- Specimen Preparation: Accurately handle patient specimens in accordance with laboratory standards.
- Laboratory Testing: Perform a variety of laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, and immunology.
- Test Analysis & Reporting: Analyze test results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols. Generate, interpret, and report findings promptly.
- Quality Control: Monitor, maintain, and ensure the proper calibration and operation of lab equipment and instruments. Perform routine quality control and proficiency testing.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and patient information in accordance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CLIA).
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate lab results and support patient care.
- Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any technical issues or discrepancies in laboratory tests or results.
