Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team.
You will be working inside a Rheumatology outpatient clinic that has been around for 20 years, with a friendly, dedicated, staff that is passionate about providing good patient care.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing venipuncture and specimen collection while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and medical terminology, as well as the ability to work effectively in a clinical environment.
Duties
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens from patients following aseptic techniques.
- Process specimens according to established laboratory protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of specimen collection, processing, and patient information.
- Assist in the preparation of specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
- Monitor and record vital signs when necessary, providing additional support to patients during the collection process.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing of specimens.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures within the clinical laboratory environment.
- Provide excellent patient care by addressing concerns and ensuring comfort during the specimen collection process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in phlebotomy or related clinical laboratory settings is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with specimen collection processing and handling in a hospital or clinical environment.
- Ability to demonstrate aseptic technique while performing venipuncture.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient interaction and care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in phlebotomy or relevant healthcare field is a plus but not required.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
