Regional Environmental Expert

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides leadership on RHIM’s environmental strategy. Mentoring and supporting the locations with their execution of environmental compliance, best practice sharing and implementation and policies. Oversee RHIM environment programs to achieve and maintain compliance with jurisdictional requirements local laws and regulations, as well as corporate policies and procedures. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Partner with Corporate and Organizational Leadership to develop short and long-term strategies to achieve a total compliance management system, demonstrating a strong commitment to EHS excellence and a passion for occupational safety.
  • Stakeholder in our M&A due diligence and integration.
  • Develop and implement programs to meet strategic environment goals handling and supporting multiple projects across NAM. Develop energy management & sustainability strategy.
  • Manage energy benchmarking and assessment; analyze energy and water consumption metrics to identify opportunities and create plans to sustain energy savings.
  • Develop Monthly Data reports, resolve any issues with data accuracy/completeness, provide regular reports relative to environmental & energy goals.
  • Interfacing with regulatory agencies.
  • Assist locations with any environmental permitting.  
  • Drive the program by establishing implementation plans to resolve key environmental risks.
  • Identify and anticipate key emerging environmental issues that have the potential to significantly affect the business and drive effective strategies and actions in response.
  • Mentor designated employees across NAM, ensuring the direction and capability to implement RHIM’s policies, principles and values and achieving standards of environment performance that sustain long-term business goals.
  • Set up and facilitate a regular cadence to promote knowledge transfer, information sharing and outline programs.
  • Benchmark internally and externally, conducting gap analysis to develop standardized environment systems, programs, processes, and procedures.
  • Represent RHIM in industry forums and ensure up to date knowledge of best practice and regulatory change is communicated across business.

  • Assist the local EHS personnel in completion of reporting requirements as defined by the regulatory authorities
  • Assist in Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis
  • Assist in the follow-up related to EHS IMS audits

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  1. FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, or related field

 

  1. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

 

Preferred:

  • Minimum 10 years of Environmental experience with progressing responsibilities
  • Ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with ability to interface seamlessly with all levels of management. Comfortable working in virtual environments with remote teams and across a broad set of stakeholders
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis application
  • Self-starter, motivated team player, with ability to bring alternate points of view to the discussion and analysis
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively organize responsibilities. Strong project management and leadership skills, self-motivating skillset that drives results both autonomously and in a team environment
