The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI), named Best Rehabilitation Hospital in Indiana by US News and World Report for the past two years, provides quality rehabilitation services to those facing life-changing injuries or illness. We specialize in the areas of brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and complex medical conditions. RHI is the only Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Model System in the state of Indiana and one of only 16 in the U.S. Our campus on the west side of Indianapolis specializes in inpatient and outpatient evidence-based, patient-centered therapy for ages 15 and older. SUMMARY
The Therapy Scheduler facilitates and coordinates the daily and future scheduling of therapy staff schedules and RHI patients using computerized scheduling in a timely and efficient manner. This position elicits staff scheduling in an organized fashion to maintain the required, predetermined staff resources to deliver therapy patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Accurately schedules therapy evaluations for new inpatient admissions, including review of pre-admission information and/or physician orders to identify disciplines that require an evaluation
- Schedule all patient therapies and notifies staff of appropriate information, including but not limited to scheduling for PT, OT, ST, rehab psychology (and testing), radiology, dietary (including Diabetic Classes), and nursing (including blocks and Coumadin class)
- Accurately adjusts schedules to accommodate MD appointments and physician consults
- Maintain a database to support the scheduling system
- Generate daily/weekly schedules to all affected parties; post-house-wide communications for therapy departments
- Ability to judge patient care time versus free time and to facilitate equity across teams
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Min of 2 years of secretarial or scheduling experience in a healthcare office environment (preferably rehabilitation or hospital related)
- Microsoft office experience required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
