Lead Tool Repair Technician
Overview: As a Lead Tool Repair Technician, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the repair process, leading a team of skilled technicians, and ensuring the highest level of service quality. You will work closely with the Repair Center Manager to drive operational success, improve key repair metrics, and maintain effective communication across teams and with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and provide guidance to a team of Tool Repair Technicians, ensuring efficient performance and adherence to repair standards.
- Training & Development: Onboard and train new technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Repair Process Oversight: Collaborate with the Branch Manager to drive improvements in repair processes and key performance metrics.
- Safety Leadership: Serve as the Safety Lead for the repair team, ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures.
- Technical Expertise: Act as the primary point of contact for complex technical issues and troubleshooting.
- Quality Control & Calibration: Oversee the Quality Lab and ensure compliance with ISO 17025 calibration standards.
- Review and verify ISO 17025 calibration processes for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure all calibration equipment is maintained, updated, and in good working order.
- Review and resolve any Corrective Action Requests (CARS) in collaboration with the Branch Manager.
- Customer Communication: Maintain direct communication with customers, addressing inquiries, providing status updates, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the repair process.
- Tool Repair & Maintenance: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of power tools and hoists, ensuring quality repairs and timely turnaround.
- Disassemble tools to identify issues, replace faulty components, reassemble, and test functionality.
- Data Management: Accurately enter repair data into the ERP system, ensuring precise recordkeeping and documentation.
- Calibration Services: Perform ISO/IEC 17025:2017 calibrations for relevant tools and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Proficiency in repairing the following types of tools:
- Pneumatic tools
- Transducer-controlled tools
- Current-controlled tools
- Controllers
- Battery-operated tools (e.g., transducerized, clutch)
- ADE tools
- Hoists
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to focus on details while maintaining efficiency and accuracy in repair work.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
- Collaboration: Proven track record of working effectively in a team environment, with a focus on achieving common goals.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining high-quality standards.
