Job Title: Supply Chain Coordinator
Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Coordinator manages and oversees purchasing, receiving, logistics, shipping, material handling, and quality assurance within the operations group. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain processes, be able to handle multiple tasks efficiently, and ensure seamless coordination across all stages of the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchasing: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source materials and supplies at competitive prices, ensuring the availability of goods as per project requirements.
- Receiving: Oversee the receiving process to ensure the correct materials are received on time and match purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Logistics: Manage transportation and delivery schedules, coordinate with carriers, and monitor the movement of goods to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Shipping: Ensure orders are shipped according to schedule and compliance with company standards, handling documentation, customs paperwork, and tracking shipments.
- Material Handling: Supervise material handling operations, ensuring safe storage, inventory control, and appropriate movement of materials within the warehouse.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections of incoming materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any quality issues and ensure compliance.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock records and the timely replenishment of supplies to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory activities. Provide regular reports to management on supply chain performance and potential issues.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within supply chain processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Project Management or related field / work experience (preferred).
- 2-3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, including purchasing, receiving, logistics, shipping, material handling, and quality assurance.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and supply chain management software (ERP systems, inventory management tools).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected situations.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in logistics and material handling.
