Position Overview
The Assistant Director, Hope Scholarship, will support the development and implementation of the newly legislated Hope Scholarship program, helping to achieve the program’s enrollment, retention and timely completion goals. The Assistant Director will facilitate the operations and initiatives of Hope Scholarship, including conducting student outreach and programmatic data analysis. The Assistant Director will aid projects related to the Hope Scholarship. The Assistant Director will also assist in the design and implementation of college wide- retention initiatives.
Primary Purpose
The Assistant Director, Hope Scholarship, will support the development and implementation of the newly legislated Hope Scholarship program, helping to achieve the program’s enrollment, retention and timely completion goals. The Assistant Director will facilitate the operations and initiatives of Hope Scholarship, including conducting student outreach and programmatic data analysis. The Assistant Director will aid projects related to the Hope Scholarship. The Assistant Director will also assist in the design and implementation of college wide- retention initiatives.
Essential Duties
Work in collaboration with the Director, Hope Scholarship, to develop and assess programmatic outcomes.
Utilize summary-level and student-level data to understand program opportunities and challenges.
Assist with data collection for required reporting of outcomes for the State of Rhode Island, as outlined in the Hope Scholarship legislation.
Develop an understanding of the greatest opportunities for increased enrollment, retention, timely completion and equitable outcomes and offer suggestions.
Maintain the systems required to communicate with students at scale in a personalized manner regarding their Hope scholarship eligibility.
Provide support for advisor and faculty inquiries regarding student eligibility and offer strategies and suggestions as appropriate.
Serve as a point person for the scholarship in the director’s absence.
Provide support for Hope outreach events (e.g., accepted student’s day, fall open house).
Deliver presentations about Hope Scholarship eligibility and strategies for students (e.g., Admissions Ambassadors, RA’s, Orientation Leaders).
Review student information data to determine scholarship eligibility (e.g., transcripts, academic advising report, Hope Scholarship queries and reports).
Work in partnership with Financial Aid and Management Information Systems (MIS) on scholarship awarding processes.
Maintain communication within the Hope Scholarship mailboxes.
Assist with special projects related to the Hope Scholarship.
Asist with the design and implementation of college-wide retention initiatives for all students and specific sub populations.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of three years of successful full-time work in a college/university or related experience.
