Position Overview
Established in 1854, Rhode Island College now serves approximately 4,800 Undergraduate students and 1,000 Graduate students in courses and programs both on and off campus. The oldest of the three public institutions of higher education that operate under the aegis of the Board of Governors for Higher Education, the College is supported by the State of Rhode Island as its only comprehensive college and is part of the system of public higher education which includes the Community College and the University. Rhode Island College is nonsectarian and coeducational. Over 80 offices and departments are housed on the campus, and about 300 fulltime faculty members contribute to the College’s mission to make its academic programs available to any qualified resident of Rhode Island who can benefit from its educational services.
The Information Services Technician II provides administrative and programmatic support involving independent judgment in the interpretation and application of existing procedures within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The Admissions Office is within the Division of Student Success and provides services to prospective students, and their families, during the recruitment and admission process. This position supports the Director, Office Manager, and admissions team, providing assistance with special projects and events, as well as supervision of student workers, and is expected to work collaboratively with on and off campus partners. This position is responsible for utilizing college-wide management information systems and program databases (PeopleSoft, Perceptive Content, Salesforce) to electronically input, maintain, and track student data, provide customer service and general information about the College, and direct student inquiries to the appropriate admissions representative; responsible for collecting all necessary documentation for JAA Intent to Enroll applicants; assist with the scanning and routing of admissions documents for review; and reviewing files of incomplete applications and report findings.

Education

A working knowledge of state government, services and programs; a working knowledge of word processing and other computer applications; a working knowledge of the operation of computer equipment and peripherals and the ability to operate and make minor repairs to such equipment; the ability to organize and present data in formats applicable to user needs; the ability to compile reports; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other governmental agencies and the public; the ability to supervise and review the work of technical and support personnel; and related capacities and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Perceptive Content, Salesforce, Microsoft Access, and PeopleSoft.
Bilingual.
