POSITION SUMMARY
Rhode Island FC is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Box Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of the box office. This position plays a critical role in ticketing operations, customer service, and staff supervision. Responsibilities include financial reconciliation, maintaining accurate records, managing the ticketing system, and ensuring a seamless experience for fans. The ideal candidate will be an effective leader with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Box Office Management: Supervise daily box office operations, including overseeing part-time staff, assisting with ticketing inquiries, and ensuring a smooth event-day experience.
- Customer Service Excellence: Train and monitor staff to provide high-quality customer service, addressing ticketing issues and concerns with discretion and professionalism.
- Ticket Sales & Operations: Maintain and update the computerized ticketing system, ensuring accurate seat mapping and availability for all events.
- Staff Development: Select, train, and schedule box office personnel, ensuring adherence to operational policies and exceptional performance.
- Financial Accountability: Safeguard ticket revenue by verifying daily sales reports, maintaining precise records, and making necessary deposits.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of box office operations by making recommendations for enhancements and preparing reports for leadership.
- Community & Business Engagement: Assist with outbound communication to season ticket holders, corporate sponsors, and general patrons to strengthen relationships and drive sales.
- Professional Growth: Stay current with industry trends through self-directed learning, networking, and attending professional development opportunities.
- Additional Duties: Support Rhode Island FC’s overall success by performing other tasks as assigned.
SUPERVISION
The Assistant Box Office Manager reports to the Director of Ticket Sales & Operations, supervises part-time box office employees, and provides recommendations regarding hiring, promotions, and other personnel decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Prior experience in customer service, ticketing, or box office operations.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with ticketing systems (training provided).
- Fast-Paced Adaptability: Ability to excel in a high-energy, event-driven environment.
- Background Check: Successful completion of a pre-employment comprehensive background screening.
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized or able to obtain authorization to work in the U.S.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stretch for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day).
- Comfortable working in moderate to loud environments.
- Ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively in person and via telephone.
SCHEDULE
This full-time role requires availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with shift schedules varying based on event needs.
