Location: The Stadium at Tidewater Landing - Pawtucket, Rhode Island (On-Site)
Classification: Part-Time, Seasonal (March-November)
Compensation: Hourly

Job Summary:
Rhode Island FC is a professional soccer team competing in the USL Championship and based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Starting in Spring 2025, Rhode Island FC will host home matches at the newly constructed, state-of-the-art, 10,500-seat venue, The Stadium at Tidewater Landing.

We are seeking enthusiastic and driven individuals to join our Matchday Operations Staff for the 2025 USL Championship season. This part-time, seasonal role is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in sports management and event operations to gain hands-on experience in a professional sports environment.

As a member of the Matchday Operations Staff, you will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional experience for fans, teams, and staff on matchdays. Ideal candidates are proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn various roles and responsibilities. In addition to working home matches, there may be opportunities to assist with other events at The Stadium at Tidewater Landing throughout the season.

Openings Include:
  • Home Team Liaison
    • Manage set-up and breakdown of locker room for home team, serving as point of contact for team and relaying relevant requests to Stadium Operations Department.
  • Visiting Team Liaison
    • Manage set-up and breakdown of locker room for visiting team, serving as point of contact for team and relaying relevant requests to Stadium Operations Department.
  • Match Officials Liaison
    • Manage set-up and breakdown of locker room for match officials, serving as point of contact for team and relaying relevant requests to Stadium Operations Department.
  • Stretcher Crew
    • Work with team athletic trainers and EMTs to transport players off field in cases of injury.
  • Ball Kid Coordinator
    • Supervise group of 6-8 ball kids, delivering instructions, feedback, and monitoring inventory of match balls throughout the duration of the match.
  • Field Marshal
    • Work with Security to ensure that only credentialed members of media are accessing permitted spaces.
  • Red Hat
    • Serve as a liaison between fourth official and broadcast/in-stadium PA to relay information relevant to the game (goals, substitutions, cautions, ejections, added time, etc.)
  • Streamer Crew
    • Monitor objects thrown onto the field, promptly removing streamers, etc. to ensure prompt restarts of play.

Responsibilities:
Matchday Operations Staff will have the opportunity to fill different roles throughout the season, providing them with exposure to multiple aspects of event operations. Key responsibilities include:
  • Event Setup and Breakdown:
    • Assist with setting up and breaking down equipment and signage for matches.
    • Ensure sponsor activations, fan zones, and other matchday elements are properly installed and operational.
  • Stadium Operations:
    • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned areas.
    • Collaborate with security and facilities teams to ensure a safe environment for all attendees.
  • Team and Player Operations Support:
    • Assist with team arrivals, locker room preparations, and field setup as needed.
    • Coordinate with match officials to ensure pre-match, halftime, and post-match needs are met.
  • Other Duties:
    • Support special events, promotions, and activations during matches.
    • Adapt to other operational needs as assigned by the Event Operations team.

Qualifications
  • Passion for sports and an interest in event management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
    • Must be able to work at least 66% of home games for Rhode Island FC throughout the 2025 season (at least 12 out of 18 regular season games from March-October, with potential for up to (4) playoff games). Most games will be played on Saturday afternoons/evenings.
  • Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods and performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and a positive attitude are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in customer service, sports operations, or event management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of soccer and the USL Championship is advantageous but not required.

Additional Information

This is a seasonal, part-time position from March to November, primarily on event days.
