Job Title : Nurse Practitioner
Summary : Under the general supervision of the Chairman of the Department of Hematology / Oncology Academic Medical Center and the Director of Cancer Services and Ambulatory Care, this role is responsible for evaluating and developing treatment plans for hematology / oncology patients.
Responsibilities :
- Functions as a clinical expert by providing direct episodic healthcare to prevent and meet the acute symptomatic and palliative care needs of patients with cancer.
- Practices collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, ordering, supervising, and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments.
- Participates in the development of patient care plans with registered nurses and attending physicians.
- Provides educational and liaison support to healthcare team members.
- Assists in clinical research projects, including data acquisition, entry, and analysis as needed.
- Participates in quality improvement teams and other committees as needed.
- Maintains quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control in accordance with established hospital department policies, procedures, and objectives.
