In collaboration with the Assistant Director of the Turley Memphis Center who directs the Bonner Program, the Bonner Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Bonner Program. This position will interact regularly with the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Academic Support, Community Standards, Residence Life, the Counseling Center, and Athletics. Some travel and occasional evening/weekend work is required. The Bonner Coordinator reports to the TMC Assistant Director for Community Engagement. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, flexible and adaptable, a creative problem solver, experienced with public speaking, committed to working with a productive, collaborative, and energetic team, and knowledgeable of Bonner Foundation rules and requirements.
Job responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Maintain a daily presence in the Bonner Center.
- Monitor eligibility, reflections, transportation, and student needs.
- Manage Rhodes Engage/Give Pulse platform.
- Manage Bonner Program activity in the Notion software.
- Plan events.
- Supervise and mentor Bonner students.
- Attend bi-annual Bonner Foundation meetings and required Bonner trips and functions.
- Plan and help lead weekly Bonner training, education, and reflection meetings and assignments.
- Participate in 1:1 meetings with each Bonner each semester for personal, academic, and professional advising.
- Plan and help lead Bonner cornerstone activities, including an extended first year orientation, a first-year service trip, a sophomore exchange with other schools in the Bonner Network, and the Bonner Senior Presentation of Learning.
- Assist Bonner Director in identifying and coordinating student placements.
- Manage Bonner program budgets and processes, check requests, student payroll, and invoices and purchases for the center, including reconciling receipts and expense reports in Workday and BWBRS.
- Maintain Bonner website and publish public events on TMC and College calendars.
- Document the outcomes and initiatives of all community partner meetings.
- Work travel is required.
- Work occasional nights and/or weekends is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- This position requires a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and must be insurable by the College’s insurance carrier.
- One year of higher education or related environment experience required.
- Experience working closely with college students or a similar population preferred.
- Experience with community engagement and working with diverse constituencies required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Experience with community-engaged learning, student supervision, program assessment, budget management preferred.
- Workday, Box, Slate, Give Pulse, Outlook, and Notion experience preferred.
