The at invites applications for a two-year, non-tenure track visiting assistant professor position in American Politics that will begin August 13, 2025. Candidates should have, or be close to completing (ABD), a PhD in Political Science. Candidates will be expected to teach multiple sections of Introduction to United States Politics (25 student cap per class), and upper-level topics classes in American politics informed by their research to complement the needs of the department. Candidates who have experience with liberal arts education and college-level teaching experience are preferred. The teaching load is six courses a year. All faculty are eligible for $2000 in annual professional development funds.

Also, you must include the following under Additional Documents : (4) a teaching philosophy statement, which includes descriptions of two American politics topics classes that the applicant would like to teach (1-page, single spaced); (5) evidence of teaching performance; (6) and a sample syllabus for Introduction to United States Politics.
The review of completed applications will begin on March 28th and will continue until the position is filled. Letters of recommendation will only be solicited for short-listed applicants, at which time you will be prompted for the names and contact information for three (3) references. Background checks are required before candidates can be brought to campus for interviews.
