Maintenance Associate

Overview

The Donahue Academy is seeking a full-time Maintenance Associate This role is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of maintenance for the school building and property and ensures all interiors and exteriors are clean, well maintained, and safe.

Job Responsibilities

• General building maintenance and equipment.
• Oversight of the cleaning & sanitization that is provided by the evening janitorial crew
• Supplemental cleaning & sanitization, as needed during the day
• Performs routine electrical, lighting, plumbing and carpentry repairs
• Develops contracts and oversees work performed by outside contractors
• Responds to emergency calls 24hrs/day.
• Understanding of all safety protocols and disposal of hazardous waste items
• Performs record-keeping
• Coordinates and assists with special projects and events as directed.
• Communicate clearly with vendors and school staff
• Previous work experience as a maintenance worker preferred
• Detail-oriented and conscientious
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal

• Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have basic maintenance skills.
• Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.
• Plumbing or electric license preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with emphasis on meeting tight deadlines.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds at a minimum without assistance
• Physically capable of climbing ladders in a safe manner
• Able to sustain prolonged periods of twisting, bending, kneeling, standing and walking,
• Able to safely use cleaning supplies and poses knowledge regarding proportioning chemicals or cleaning solutions
• Able to perform the above essential duties without physical restrictions that would endanger the health and safety of the worker or others.
• Must pass DOV assigned post offer physical exam
