Rhombus is looking for a Firmware Engineer who will focus on research, development, and improvements to the firmware of Rhombus' existing and future products.
\n- Develop new features and integrate into existing firmware codebase
- Collaborate with backend and frontend developers to vertically integrate new features
- Optimize and/or refactor existing firmware code base
- Write unit tests and automate firmware testing
- Service interrupts from support team to help resolve customer issues
- Have 4 years professional experience programming in C or C
- Expert in C/C for embedded systems in a Linux environment
- Strong Linux system programming fundamentals
- Comfortable with fast prototyping and iterations based on customer/product feedback
- Comfortable with re-writing bootloader and drivers
- Enjoy R&D and tinkering with hardware/Eval boards
- Working closely with the hardware team to spec out an ideal and fast go to market product plan
- Experience with Linux kernel development is a plus
This is an onsite position based in Sacramento, CA. Candidates must be able to commute to the office 5 days a week.
Compensation
Base Salary: $110,000-$145,000
Additional forms of compensation, depending on the role, include sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and equity in the company. Individual pay is determined based on the candidate's primary work/hiring location and additional factors, such as skills and experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Further details about compensation for the role can be discussed during the interview process.
