Job Description

The responsibilities and duties of this position described here are representative of those an employee must perform. This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct and lead yoga classes
- Visually assess students to determine their level of practice
- Demonstrate practice and techniques
- Transform energy during the warm-up, build-up and cool-down stages
- Connect with students during the yoga classes through fun, intelligent sequencing and inclusive languaging
- Provide high level customer service and hospitality to clients
- Maintain a positive attitude and take initiative
- Provide support to the Rhoswyn Wellness front desk team to ensure a successful class check-in process
- Work as a cohesive team with all Rhoswyn Wellness staff members to ensure efficiency and camaraderie
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIREMENTS:
- Yoga teacher with demonstrable qualifications or experience
- Ability to teach a 30-minute ‘audition’ class complete with integration, and cool-down in your preferred style
- For hot classes: understanding of the contraindications of hot yoga and ability to guide practitioners safely including recognizing the signs of dehydration and dizziness
- Ability to keep all practitioners safe - this may include asking practitioners to stop or slow down where their practice could cause injury to themselves or others
- Individual yoga insurance
- Excellent communication skills and be able to work with a wide range of personalities
- Outstanding customer service and problem solving skills
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Friendly and professional etiquette
- Be responsible, dependable and passionate about the Rhoswyn mission
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Knowledge of the Chakra System, Pranayama, mantra and mindful meditation
- Flexibility to accommodate the fluid nature of a wellness facility, but with work-life balance always top of mind
- Ability and willingness to promote classes, events and the studio regularly across social media platforms and in-person
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Kneel, bend, reach, climb and stand for long durations of time
- Demonstrate intermediate yoga poses safely
- Teach a 60-minute class with ease
- Lift/carry a maximum of 30lbs
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 6 per week
