We have an exciting opportunity available for a Financial Analyst- Property Taxes to join our team. This role is responsible for the compliance, appeals, accounting, and budgeting of the Company’s property taxes.
As a Financial Analyst - Property Taxes, you will:
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and accounting accruals related to property taxes
- Perform property tax due diligence for potential acquisitions. Document tax impacts in a tax projection memo
- Manage tax appeal workflows – track appeal deadlines, prepare data for appeal analysis, analyzing settlement offers, present results of appeals to decision makers
- Serve as the primary contact for third-party property tax consultants
- Prepare and present relevant materials for joint venture Board of Directors meetings
- Develop and maintain a property tax database to be utilized in data analytics and reporting
- Work with Treasury department to manage cash funds required to maintain sufficient property tax escrows
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of the property tax rules and regulations in all relevant markets
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 years of financial analysis experience, knowledge of property taxes desired
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business desired
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Experience with PowerBI preferred
- Experience with accounting software such as MRI and Nexus preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and management experience
- Detail orientated, the ability to multitask, and be a team player in a fast-paced environment
Corporate working environment, hybrid schedule working in office a minimum of 3 days a week.
