Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our Chiropractic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding and timely submission of claims to insurance companies. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records efficiently.
Office hours: M-W, 6am - 5pm. Th, 6am - 11am.
Duties
- Review patient records to ensure all necessary documentation is present for billing purposes. Verify patient’s Insurance coverage and obtain authorizations.
- Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems.
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on any outstanding payments or denials.
- Maintain and update patient accounts, ensuring all information is accurate and current.
- Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies and answer any related inquiries.
- Conduct medical collections as necessary, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
- Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.
- Front Office duties of signing patients in, taking payments, and signing patients out.
- Answering phones
- Process new patient paperwork
- Help with all other office processes when needed
Skills
- Proficiency in medical billing processes and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and medical coding principles.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare systems.
- Experience with medical records management and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
