Tax Preparer – Full-Time | In-Office/Hybrid | $80,000–$105,000
Are you an experienced tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced public accounting environment? We are a dynamic and client-focused tax and accounting firm seeking a full-time Tax Preparer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is meticulous, self-motivated, and passionate about helping individuals and small businesses with their financial needs.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex and individual tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1041.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns and other required filings.
- Conduct general ledger analysis and reconcile bank accounts.
- Process daily accounting transactions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and employee expense reporting.
- Assist with client bookkeeping and year-end closings.
- Prepare and file sales tax, business property tax, 1099s, and other compliance forms.
- Manage client payroll data access and reporting through third-party vendors.
- Perform spreadsheet analysis and assist with tax season preparation.
- Handle tax return extensions and communicate estimated payments to clients.
- Communicate with clients and government agencies as needed to gather information and resolve issues.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting and tax preparation.
- Strong knowledge of individual and small business tax laws.
- Experience in a high-volume public accounting environment preferred.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is preferred but not required.
Compensation & Work Environment:
- Salary range: $80,000–$105,000, commensurate with experience.
- In-office role with a collaborative and supportive team environment. Hybrid flexibility available following a successful probationary period.
