Summary:

Position Summary: Briefly describe the job's primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.
The HR Generalist is responsible for the administration of the HR benefits process, recruiting, and assisting the HR Business Partner with medical leave facilitation, employee relations programs, employee issues, and trainings. They also assist the HR Specialists and Seamstress positions with any essential duties in their process. They are responsible for working with HR management to help ensure all areas of HR are in compliance with company and legal regulations.

Essential Functions:
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities: List the job's most important functions and responsibilities. Include all important aspects of the job, whether performed daily, weekly, monthly, annually, or any that may occur at irregular intervals.
    • Assist HR management with the resolution of employee relations issues and employee/supervisor conflict.
    • Responsible for the full administration of the recruiting and onboarding process for applicants.
    • Responsible for assisting all HR staff with their areas, as needed.
    • Full administration of the benefits process, including new hires benefits, open enrollment, ACA audits, and qualifying events.
    • Work with benefit vendors to assist employees with issues and help file any necessary claims.
    • Serve as a resource for Employee Guide interpretation.
    • Responsible for assisting the HR Business Partner with review/approval of all LOA requests, to include FMLA, EHCL and Military leave.
    • Responsible for assisting management with the employee recognition programs and coordinating all-employee events.
    • Assist HR Business Partner with creation and implementation of all management trainings, ensuring training material is kept current with best HR practices and regulations.
    • Compliance of company trainings, including tracking and ensuring completion of trainings before expiration, along with facilitating trainings as necessary.
    • Assist HR management in workers compensation claims, including filing claims, investigations, and light duty administration.
    • Assisting HR management with the ADAAA process, as needed.
    • Ensuring management compliance with company policies, including working with managers when non-compliance issues arise.
    • Working closely with the HR Director and HR Business Partner on any relevant HR issues or new HR initiatives.
Required:
  • Job Specific Knowledge: The use of practical procedures and knowledge, specialized techniques, and learned skills.
    • Specialized – A sound understanding of and skill in several activities which involve a variety of practices and precedents or a basic understanding of the theory and principles of the discipline. Typically requires an Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of educations and experience.
