JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist responsible for driving the design, development, and execution of learning and training programs, with a focus on Sales Training. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of assessing organizational training needs, sales processes, exceptional training and communication skills, and a passion for fostering continuous learning and development within the sales function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Training Needs Assessment: Partner with managers and leadership to assess and identify training needs across the organization, ensuring that programs align with overall business and organizational goals.
- Curriculum Design & Content Development: Take the lead in designing, developing, and curating training programs and content for various teams. Develop customized materials and resources to meet identified needs, including working with the CCO to create sales training content.
- Learning Evaluation & Improvement: Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using feedback, assessments, and key performance metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Track and monitor employee learning progress and development. Maintain accurate records of training completion and skill advancement.
- Compliance & Regulatory Training: Stay current with legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry. Ensure the development and delivery of compliance-related training, tracking employee participation to meet required standards.
- Training Delivery & Facilitation: Lead in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, case studies and webinars focused on sales techniques, product knowledge, CRM tools, and soft skills (negotiation, persuasion, etc.). Facilitate onboarding programs for new sales hires, ensuring they have a strong foundation to succeed in their roles.
- Sales Process Optimization: Collaborate with sales leadership to identify gaps in skills and knowledge, and design targeted training initiatives to address these gaps. Provide ongoing coaching and support to sales reps on real-time challenges and sales techniques.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through sales performance metrics, feedback surveys, and employee assessments. Provide regular reports to management on training outcomes and return on investment (ROI).
- Sales Coaching and Mentoring: Offer one-on-one or group coaching to sales teams, helping them improve their sales techniques and overcome obstacles in their sales processes. Provide feedback and constructive guidance to individual sales reps, ensuring they are progressing and continuously improving their skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, or Sales Training preferably within B2B environments.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, methodologies (e.g., SPIN, Challenger Sale), and CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
- Proven experience with sales training or working closely with sales teams is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training delivery techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage learners at all levels.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training platforms.
- Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and industry-specific compliance requirements for training programs.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Ability to work independently, think critically, and collaborate across departments to achieve company goals.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification in sales training methodologies (e.g., Sandler Training, Sales Management Association).
- Experience with virtual learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex).
- Experience in sales enablement tools and technology.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Occasional travel may be required for training sessions and events.
