Job Description: The ESOL Enrollment Coordinator plays an important role in the program as the first staff member who prospective students interface with when they call to inquire about classes. They are also staff who maintain communication with learners throughout their time in the program, refer them to other agencies or programs according to their needs and goals, coordinates material and technology pick up/drop off, and provides individualized, multilingual tech support for remote learning.
Requirements:
- Bilingual or multilingual (Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred)
- Experience working with diverse, multicultural populations
- Enthusiasm for working with adult English Language Learners
- Strong interpersonal and active listening skills
- Organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Ability to identify adult learners’ needs and support participants to persist in learning
- Proficiency in using online platforms including Google Workspace, Email, and Zoom
- Proficiency in using MS Office (Word and Excel)
- CASAS proctor trained
Responsibilities include:
- Recruit learners by designing and distributing promotional materials to agency partners and in the community and maintaining social media pages.
- Field calls from prospective students, providing relevant information about how to enroll in classes and answering all questions.
- Manage the waitlist of interested prospective students (system in place)
- Organize the logistics of registration sessions and new student orientations.
- Add new and returning students to the roster
- Proctor all CASAS assessments and record scores.
- Refer learners to other agencies and programs for services, as appropriate.
- Create class roster spreadsheets for internal attendance record keeping.
- Manage all program communications with students, including announcements, reminders by email and text message.
- Collect and register payments from the students on the roster.
- Call students who missed one week of class to plan how the program can support their return to classes.
- Attend monthly ESOL staff meetings and ILSR meetings.
- Participate in training/Professional Development opportunities related to intake, enrollment, assessment, and student support services
- Organization – wide duties.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
Schedule:
- Every weekend
- Monday to Friday
