Job Responsibilities
- Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
- Take beverage orders from customers or waitstaff and serve drinks.
- Check identification to verify legal age requirements for all customers.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies as needed.
- Manage cash and credit card transactions accurately using a point-of-sale system.
- Provide excellent customer service and engage with patrons to enhance their experience.
- Monitor and manage bar patrons' behavior and alcohol consumption to ensure customer safety.
- Prepare garnishes and other drink ingredients in advance.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for beverage preparation and service.
- Collaborate with other staff and management to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in bar setup and closing duties, including cleaning glasses and utensils.
- Suggest and upsell additional drink options or promotions to customers.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Attend training sessions and meetings to stay updated on new drinks, techniques, and safety protocols.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume setting
- Proficiency in mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks according to recipes
- Strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages, beer, wine, and cocktail recipes
- Ability to assess customer preferences and make drink recommendations
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills and a welcoming demeanor
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and calculating bills
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Understanding of applicable liquor laws and regulations
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS or equivalent) preferred
