What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manger (Co-op) position at Ribbon Communications?
SUMMARY
This customer facing role of a Project Manager Intern is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines and budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors. The Project Manager Intern will also define the project’s objectives, drive and deliver risk mitigation and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. This intern position will work closely with experienced Project Managers to assist with projects and then run projects independently.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- With guidance, direct and manage project development from beginning to end, ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Engage with mentor/manager when critical skills outside of current project team are needed to successfully deliver projects.
- Identify and engage mentor/management to resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using Salesforce CRM and internally developed tools.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
- Build business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Conduct project closure meetings and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Implement training documents/recordings for the development of new interns and employees
- Assist with updating process documentation to ensure accurate with current team processes and tools.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Familiarity with project management software, such as SmartSheet or MS Project
- Students need to be in a project management curriculum and/or have completed PM courses meeting baseline of skills to perform this role
- Conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including management, clients, and other departments.

- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experienced in customer facing roles is a plus
- Fluent in English (written and verbal). Other languages a plus.
