Position Overview
Position: Senior Federal Project Manager
Location: Ribbon Communications
Ribbon Communications is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Senior Federal Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful execution of complex federal projects. In this role, you will manage key government modernization initiatives, reporting directly to the Vice President of Global Services, Americas. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of federal project management experience, a strong technical background, and a valid (or reactivatable) Secret Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Lead federal projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with client goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans that define scope, budgets, schedules, and key milestones.
- Monitor and manage project KPIs such as budget adherence, schedule compliance, scope control, and quality assurance.
Technical Expertise:
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of SIP-based telecommunication solutions, VoIP, session border controllers, and cloud-native technologies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for federal clients, providing regular project updates, identifying risks, and recommending adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Account Leaders, sales engineering, partners, and clients to resolve project challenges and ensure seamless execution.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and federal compliance standards.
- Apply expertise in Risk Management Frameworks (RMF) and Information Assurance processes to ensure security compliance.
- Maintain documentation for federal compliance, audit readiness, and quality assurance.
Travel & Coordination:
- Coordinate on-site project activities and provide occasional travel to customer sites and Ribbon offices in Raleigh and Plano.
Tools & Software:
- Utilize Smartsheet and Excel for scheduling, budgeting, and task tracking.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly preferred.
Experience & Skills:
- 8-10 years of recent experience managing U.S. federal government projects, particularly within the Department of Defense.
- Strong skills in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, scope management, and risk mitigation.
- Expertise in network infrastructure, federal protocols, and ISO 9001.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven experience working with federal agencies.
