RIC design build is looking for an experienced Residential Designer.
Join our talented and experienced team as we design, build and restore both new and historic Richmond homes with a focus on sustainability, detail, and craftsmanship.. Previous work experience and professional degree required.
Candidate should be proficient with Sketchup, attentive to details and enthusiastic about residential design. Past work experience should include construction document production.
The Designer will produce design concepts, develop project designs, and create construction documents for residential projects.
Tasks may include:
- Document as-built conditions with measurements, photographs and a 3d Sketchup model.
- Develop project designs and details.
- Produce construction drawings and permit documents.
- Develop project specifications, material, and finish selections.
Minimum job requirements:
- Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
- 3 years of experience in a professional design role.
- Proficiency in construction document production.
- Computer proficiency with an understanding of design programs (SketchUp and Layout or similar) and a willingness to learn new programs aligned with our team’s workflow and digital standards.
- Professional, team-oriented collaborator who works well with clients, vendors, subcontractors and members of our design and construction team.
