POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production process for plant operations. Works collectively with the Production Planning Manager to strategically implement daily, weekly and monthly forecasting production levels for plant operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Prepares and executes production schedules and all necessary materials in a timely manner to meet customer demand and delivery goals.
- Reviews and acts on order release, order action, and exception messages from the ERP system and other sources as needed.
- Creates and maintains accurate records within ERP, and subsequently the MRP module, to allow data to flow through efficiently.
- Demonstrates the use of information gathering techniques, analyzes situations and identifies implications in order to make accurate decisions.
- Leads the production planning process onsite. Releases orders to manufacturing.
- Communicates with production and all other functions to ensure plans are developed to meet all customer commitments.
- Conducts daily reviews of shortages and expediting reports to maintain inventory levels.
- Reviews inventory levels to request transfers and/or switches between other RICCA CHEMICAL COMPANY facilities to fulfill customer expectations.
- Expedites production orders that are needed in less than the normal lead time to improve the shortfall between the current plan and the requirements to meet or exceed the customer expectations.
- Assesses capacity and makes recommendations to adjust capacity as required.
- Assesses any resource restrictions and makes recommendations on how to remove such restrictions.
- Assists with process improvement opportunities.
- Manages finished goods inventory levels by monitoring, reviewing and updating key production planning inputs.
- Helps develop demand forecasts.
- Helps determine planning methodology and scheduling techniques applied to individual finished goods.
- Calculates key inventory performance metrics such as turnover ratios, days of inventory on hand, labor productivity (including efficiency and utilization) and inventory valuations.
- Manages surplus and obsolete inventories.
- Actively seeks and attends training related to duties and role within RICCA CHEMICAL COMPANY.
- Consistently meets/exceeds standards assigned within Functional Training Document (FTD) program.
- Any other tasks deemed necessary.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Proficient working within an ERP system.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 & 17034 standard is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous and diligent.
- Able to sit, stand and move around for long hours at a time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma, GED certificate or Associates Degree preferred.
- Four (4) years’ experience in a planning and scheduling function.
- Excellent organizational skills and a self-starting personality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including experience with Excel skills with the ability to manipulate spreadsheets, create pivot tables and summarize data from multiple sources.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and with the team with strong follow through.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The physical environment may require the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. This position may be working in the warehouse under various indoor environmental conditions, including supplemental heating in the winter months and without air-conditioning in the summer months. May be requested to work overtime and weekends. The position may occasionally be exposed to ruptured, leaking packages, some of which may contain Hazardous Materials. Where appropriate, proper safety equipment should be utilized and/or appropriate personnel notified. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals. This job may require lifting of up to 50 pounds occasionally.
