Investigator

Ricci Law Firm is currently hiring an Investigator to support our legal team in Fayetteville, North Carolina. We serve clients across the state and provide essential investigative support for personal injury, workers’ compensation, and liability cases.

Our Investigators are trusted partners to our attorneys—delivering accurate, time-sensitive information to help evaluate cases thoroughly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Investigate motor vehicle accidents (private & commercial), workers’ compensation, and property liability claims
• Review and interpret DMV-349 crash reports and other law enforcement records
• Conduct witness interviews, obtain statements, and determine facts
• Perform scene investigations (photography, measurements, canvassing for cameras or witnesses)
• Submit public records requests (FOIA, court, DMV, medical)
• Conduct social media investigations
• Visit clients to obtain signatures and deliver documents
• Prepare affidavits, exhibits, and legal forms
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to privacy regulations (DPPA, HIPAA)
• Use tools like Accurint, Westlaw, and internal case management systems
• Drive up to 200 miles per week (up to 1,000 miles on rare occasions)
• Available for occasional after-hours or weekend surveillance tasks

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of private investigation experience
  OR
  Minimum 4 years of law enforcement, military police, or intelligence background
• Basic knowledge of civil law and liability
• Proficiency with digital cameras, audio recorders, and computers
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and reporting skills
• Must possess a valid NC driver’s license
• Clean criminal record and professional background
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, not required
• Preferred but not required: experience with Litify, Clio, Needles, or other legal software

Schedule

• Monday to Friday (occasional evenings/weekends for special assignments)
• Travel required throughout the Fayetteville region and nearby areas
