Mechanical Engineer, Sensor Technology, New Product Development – Dallas, TX

What will you be doing?
- Report to the Engineering Manager and work in a multi-functional team
- New product design and development
- Ability to lead a project from inception through production
- Design new products (end items and components) in accordance with project plans and schedule
- Conceptualize and design pressure sensor mechanisms using oil-filled pressure buttons and packaging components for submersible-level applications
- Analyze sensor performance parameters like pressure range, accuracy, sensitivity, and response time
- Create 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for sensor components
- Create detailed drawing packages
- Choose appropriate materials for sensor construction based on pressure ranges, temperature conditions, compatibility with fluids, and desired durability
- Build and test prototype pressure sensors in laboratory environments to validate design concepts and performance characteristics
- Develop with manufacturing engineering temperature and pressure calibration tooling and equipment
What are the minimum qualifications?
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8 years of experience designing with pressure sensors
- Deep understanding of pressure sensor element design and application
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including stress analysis, fluid mechanics, and material properties
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks) for 3D modeling, design and simulation
- Knowledge of pressure sensor technologies (piezoelectric, strain gauge, differential pressure)
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and signal processing techniques
- Proficiency in engineering analysis tools (FMEA, FEA, CFD, DFM)
What will make your résumé stand out?
- 10 years of sensor design and development experience
- Familiarity with signal processing techniques and tools such as MATLAB and LABVIEW
