Position Overview
The Director of Radiology serves as a key leader within the organization, responsible for strategic oversight and operational management of the radiology department including sub-specialties. This position provides high-level administrative leadership to ensure efficient operations, optimal resource utilization, and the delivery of high-quality care within our healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance department performance and align with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to plan and execute initiatives that support long-term growth and improvement.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes, technologies, or workflows.

Administrative Oversight:
- Oversee high-level administrative functions including compliance, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Monitor and analyze operational data to inform decision-making and improve efficiency.
- Ensure the radiology department operates within regulatory guidelines and meets accreditation standards.
- Oversee the purchase and maintenance of radiology equipment and supplies.

Personnel Management:
- Directly supervises radiology personnel, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Facilitate regular communication with the organizations leadership to address operational challenges and share best practices.
- Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, and professional development for radiology team.

Quality and Patient Experience:
- Establish and maintain high standards for patient care quality and satisfaction.
- Drive efforts to meet or exceed performance metrics related to patient care and operational benchmarks.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the department.
- Financial Stewardship:
- Ensure financial accountability and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth and operational efficiencies.
- Oversee the allocation of resources to support departments needs and priorities.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with medical staff and managers to implement initiatives that improve patient outcomes and experiences.
- Represent radiology department operations in leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, and external forums.
Qualifications

Education:
- Bachelors degree in radiologic technology (RT or BSRT)
- Masters degree in healthcare administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or a related field preferred.
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) - Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Experience:
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience.
- Demonstrated success in overseeing high-level administrative functions and supervisory experience.

- Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in healthcare systems, financial management, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team while managing competing priorities.
Work Environment
- Day shift (Mon Fri)
- Rotating call
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
