What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Communications Supervisor position at Rice County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications?
Rice County Emergency Communications is seeking qualified individuals for a Shift Supervisor position. Individuals in this position lead and direct RCECC Team Members, under the general guidance of the Emergency Communications Center Director. Tasks include assigning and coaching work projects, scheduling employees to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained, and standards of excellence are maintained in accordance with the vision and mission of Rice County Emergency Communications.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shift Supervisors are responsible for performance management, including work performance, coaching, mentoring, and implementing corrective action for performance and conduct issues. Additionally, shift supervisors will perform the duties of a Public Safety Telecommunicator as required.
- Supervision of RCECC Team Members - 60% Workload
- Coordinate RCECC QA/QI Program – 25% Workload
- Facilitate Training of RECEE Team Members – 10% Workload
- Special Assignments – 5% Workload
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience – 3 years working in Emergency Communications or any equivalent combination of training and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities preferred.
- Certified in Quality Assurance or Training Officer preferred.
- Completion of Communications Center Supervisor’s Course preferred.
- Education – High school graduate or equivalent, (Required) some college or degree preferred.
- Successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation free of any felony or serious misdemeanor convictions, physical examination, and drug examination (Required)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Personal Relations – Must be able to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with fellow RCECC team members, City, and County officials.
- Problem Solving – Must be able to solve problems including troubleshoot technology issues, handling concerns, complaints, and conflict resolution from team members, allied agencies, and citizens.
- Decision Making – Must be able to make timely decisions, sometime with limited information as needed.
- Accountability – Must be able to make suggestions for equipment needs or improvements, participate in annual budget development, and reports.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38,396.00 - $47,736.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
