What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver/Designated Coordinator Assistant position at Rice County Activity Center Inc?
Qualifications: Must pass background study, DOT physical and CPR/First Aid. Minimum high school diploma. Previous experience desirable in providing transportation to individuals with developmental disabilities. Must possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Ability to work well with others, assume additional responsibilities when appropriate, and carry out the goals of the center.
Major Responsibilities: Responsible to safely transport service recipients to and from their residences to the center per established schedule. All other duties so assigned to facilitate safe, efficient transportation
Duties: Assists Designated Coordinators in carrying out CSSP’s, IAPP’s and SMA’s
Knows and follows Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adult Reporting and Internal Review Policy. (sections 245A.65, 245A.66, 626.556, and 626.557)
Knows and follows Maltreatment of Minors policy and mandated reporting requirements.
Responds to and reports incidents.
Observes data privacy requirements according to the Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
Knows and observes service recipient rights and staff responses to ensure the exercise and protection of these rights.
Knows principles of person-centered service planning identified in section 245D.07 subdivision 1a, and how they apply to direct support service provided by the staff person.
Maintains DOT physical, CPR/First Aid and background study clearance.
Performs required service recipient documentation: Internal/External incidents, seizure records, etc.
Maintains required in service training, including additional topics determined necessary in each service recipient’s CSSP.
Loads, unloads, and transports service recipients to and from respective residences to the center, using provided vehicle each day.
Follows all established times and routes accurately.
Knows and follows required wheelchair tie down protocol.
Transports when applicable, service recipient medications, communication books, backpacks, written correspondence.
Monitors problem areas and regular maintenance log.
Assists in preparing and taking vehicle to annual DOT inspection.
Remains flexible and adjust to route changes, as individuals are added or deleted, or their schedules change.
Additional duties so assigned to help meet the goals and purposes of the Rice County Activity Center.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
