Job Summary
Examples of Duties
- Performs annual physical field inspections of 20% of parcels (property and buildings) within an assigned area of the County according to assessment cycle and annual inspection plans and timelines; inspects properties as needed related to permit review or valuation appeals.
- Responds to assessment appeals and complaints and negotiates with taxpayers to settle disputes regarding property values.
- Serves as the point person for Local Board of Review, the County Board of Equalization, and public meetings by preparing detailed reports of appraisals and assessment activities; represents the County at such meetings by answering questions related to assessment outcomes.
- Conducts market analysis used to determine annual adjustments to the assessment.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Architecture, Finance, Geography, Urban Planning, GIS or equivalent, and one to three years' experience as a Property Appraiser, Real Estate Broker, Architect, Building Inspector or related experience. A combination of education and experience closely related to the position may be considered as an equivalency. A valid driver's license is required.

HIRING RANGE / UNION: $34.79 - $36.37 Per hour / GU Unit – Grade 12
