Job Summary
**FIRST REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS JANUARY 10TH
Identifies, promotes and maintains the health of the public by providing direct nursing care and health promotion and education services in a variety of home and community settings. Serves a culturally diverse population.
Examples of Duties
- Provide family child health home visiting to prenatal/postpartum families, and those with young children, as well as other public health promotion services to support families during the early parenting years.
- Provide breastfeeding consultation and support.
- Plan and conduct presentations and classes related to family child health or other health topics.
- Participate in health fairs or community outreach events.
- Provide immunizations to children and adults.
- Provide nutrition education and WIC program services.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Minnesota licensure as a Registered Nurse. Valid driver's license. One year of nursing experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a Sate approved and nationally accredited nursing program is preferred, as is certification as a Public Health Nurse in Minnesota. Experience in public health or family child health home visiting. Bilingual: (English/Spanish or English/Somali)

UNION/SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: MNA - Grade 12 Registered Nurse - MNA Union
Bargaining unit members holding a Public Health Nurse certification shall be paid two dollars ($2.00) per hour in addition to the wage on the salary schedule of the CBA for all hours worked, ending on December 31, 2024.
HOURS
.8 FTE – 1.0 FTE. 32 - 40 hours per week. Typical work hours between approximately 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. 4-5 days per week, Monday – Friday. Flexible scheduling. Occasional limited hours on weekend, holiday, or evenings.
