What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Program Aide position at Rice Lake Area School District?
The Rice Lake Area School District is seeking to hire a dependable person to serve as a paraprofessional. Responsibilities include: supporting individualized education program (IEP) implementation, collecting data, promoting student independence, collaborating with staff, and creating safe and effective learning environments. The qualified candidates will have knowledge of or a willingness to learn strategies for addressing challenging behavior; implementing student individualized education program supports; implementing sensory diets, using universal design for learning principles to increase student academic and independent functioning skills. Highly qualified candidates will possess exceptional skills related to technology as well as knowledge and experience working with students with the most significant disabilities. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and flexibly to meet changing demands in various school environments. The position may require the paraprofessional to drive students to and from school within and outside of the Rice Lake community before and after school as well. Hours may vary based on transportation needs.
