Located in scenic northwestern Wisconsin, just 90 miles from Minneapolis, RLWS offers big city careers in a small-town atmosphere. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
The primary responsibility of the Electrical Engineer is to design new products and provide support for established products. Ensures that new products are designed to meet with Product Definition requirements, are cost effective and completed on time. Must maintain leading edge technology competencies and incorporate them wherever possible while leveraging legacy RLWS products.
In addition:
- Creates new electrical schematics to satisfy Product Definition functionality requirements
- Works with PCB layout personnel to ensure proper circuit board artwork generation
- Incorporates new technology while leveraging existing RLWS designs as much as possible
- Finds and implements design changes of existing products as potential quality issues arise
- Finds and implements design changes of existing products to reduce costs or address obsolete components
- Writes and performs Engineering Change Orders as directed
- Works with programmers to test and debug new designs or ECO implementations
- Tests new or modified circuit assemblies to meet performance, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and five (5) or more years of experience working with electronics; experience in electronic production and/or weighing a plus. Two or more years experience with circuit board development would be preferred. In addition, they will need outstanding personal computing skills including Excel, Word, Project; mainframe experience with M2K would be helpful. This positions requires strong analytic and problem solving skills and advanced knowledge of electronics. The selected person will have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
