What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paint Prep. Operator -Fernley - 1st Shift position at Rice Lake Weighing Syst?
BASIC FUNCTION
At RLWS, the Paint Prep Operator controls phosphatizing equipment (power
washer/spray wand) to prep parts for painting. The employee operates power hand tools such as: hand grinders, dual
action (da) sanders and wire wheels, and ensures that all parts are prepared
prior to painting to guarantee proper paint adhesion. The Paint Prep Operator
must have the ability to work with phosphatizing chemicals.

ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTIONS/MAJOR TASKS
Operates phosphatizing equipment on an assortment of
products. Sets up and maintains
equipment. Ensures products are
correctly prepared.
Maintains a neat, clean and organized work area while
performing paint prep duties.
Maintains accurate records of time and quantities,
etc.
Operate powered industrial truck (forklift) and overhead
crane(s)
QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills
Good reading skills
Good powered hand tool skills
Blueprint Reading skills preferred
Ability to operate a powered industrial lift (forklift)
and overhead crane (on the job training provided)
