What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paint Prep Operator position at Rice Lake Weighing Syst?
BASIC FUNCTION
Operates phosphatizing equipment (power washer/spray wand) to prep parts for painting. Operate power hand tools such as; hand grinders, dual action (da) sanders and wire wheels. Ability to work with phosphatizing chemicals. Ensures that all parts are prepared prior to painting to ensure proper paint adhesion.
B. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/MAJOR TASKS
- Operates phosphatizing equipment on an assortment of products. Sets up and maintains equipment. Ensures products are correctly prepared.
- Works in a manner in which quality of work and safety are top priorities.
- Maintains a neat, clean and organized work area while performing paint prep duties.
- Notify direct supervisor of any equipment or tooling that is damaged or not working properly.
- Maintains accurate records of time and quantities, etc.
- Operate powered industrial truck (forklift) and overhead crane(s)
- Must have the ability to read, write and communicate in the English Language

Other duties as assigned by management.

- Depressing trigger on the spray wand

- Continuous on concrete floor
Sensory Perception
- Requires ability to feel the surface of parts prior to ensure proper paint adhesion
- Vibrating power tools (Grinder, sander)
Respiratory
- May include use of a ½ mask cartridge respirator
Work environment Indoors
- Wet environment (Humid)
