Sales Order Packer, Trucks

Job Overview

You’ll be part of a fast-paced and energetic Shipping & Receiving team at Rice Lake Weighing Systems. This role takes place in our modern warehouse, specifically near the loading docks. You will pick, pack and palletize orders that are less than a truckload (LTL) for our customers all around the world.  This position has a weekly rotating schedule:   One week 8am-4:30 pm, one week 9AM -5:30 pm.   

Duties & Responsibilities 

Some of your duties may include: 

• Accurately fulfill orders to be shipped by truck 
• Package orders using commercial packaging to eliminate damage to products 
• Use spatial reasoning to ensure pallets are full and secure for transport 
• Use technology like scanners, computers and computerized shipping systems 
• Operate hand tools such as a bander, screw gun, pneumatic nail gun and a heat gun 
• Keep an organized, clean and safe work area 
• Other Duties as assigned

You’ll also need to be able to:

• Continuously stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend and reach during shifts 
• Frequently lift up to 50 - 60 pounds
• Use carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, reach trucks and other lift equipment to retrieve and move items

• Safety: Your safety is important to us, so we provide personal protective equipment.
• Surroundings: You’ll be working around moving machines like order pickers, forklifts, carts and other lift equipment. 
• Activity: Some activities may require standing in one place for a long period, walking around or climbing stairs. 
• Temperature: The warehouse is climate controlled, but temperatures in some areas of the facility may vary depending on the season. 
• Noise level: It can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it. 
• Dress code: Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for safety. Comfortable, composite or steel-toe shoes are required. RLWS reimburses 50% for safety shoes once per year.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent along with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
