For over 75 years Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our community. We are seeking a Welder to join our team in our Fernley, NV location.
Our welders build the toughest scales in the industry. The primary responsibilities of a welding candidate include performing wire feed welding to standards required to satisfactorily complete the job. Using many types of welding equipment set up in a variety of positions, such as flat, vertical, horizontal and overhead. Operates pencil grinders, disk grinders, cutoff wheels, hand drills, drill presses as needed. The candidate will use basic measuring equipment such as calipers and steel rules. Candidates must have the ability to verify position of metal components in assembly, using straight edge, combination square, calipers and rule. Welders must ensure high quality work and safe working practices at all times
Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent plus one year cutting and welding on structural steel experience or equivalent training and experience. Applicants must possess good interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication skills, understanding of mechanical processes and hand tools and good organizational skills to be considered for this position. Soldering skills would also be preferred for this position.
